MONOS SOHO — LUX COLLABORATIVE
An interior precedent featuring a fully wrapped terracotta tile surface aesthetic by Lux Collaborative, demonstrating how uniform materiality across floors, walls, and columns creates strong spatial cohesion.
- What we like about this project
- The ceiling is completely clad in the same grid of terracotta tiles as the floor and vertical columns, creating a continuous cave-like envelope.

- Geometry
- Framed axial perspective looking through heavy tiled structural piers into a terraced interior hall featuring round white columns and flush tile surfaces wrapping floors, walls, and ceiling.
- Structural guess
- Load-bearing or clad structural columns supporting concrete or steel floor slabs above.
- Spatial scale
- Monumental scale; large-format tiled columns and multi-tiered floor levels create a grand, hall-like volume.
- Lighting
- Warm, directional spotlighting mounted to tiled ceilings combined with natural daylight entering from tall side windows on the right.
- Atmosphere
- Warm, enveloping, and calm, defined by the earthy terracotta tone and rhythmic grid lines.
- Environmental context
- Interior space with perimeter windows suggesting an urban storefront or commercial venue.
- Spatial experience
- A compressed portal frames a sequence of terracotta planes that recede into an expansive room punctuated by white vertical columns and soft overhead lighting.
- Composition rhythm
- Strict rectilinear grid lines of the tile joints establish a strong vertical and horizontal rhythm across all planar surfaces.
